' 3:30 pm EDT: Washington Nationals' slugger Michael Morse and former major leaguer Cliff Floyd are friends...

Star-divide

... we know that from a previous interview Morse did with the current MLB Network Radio host this past winter in which the 39-year-old veteran of 17 MLB seasons threatened to slap Morse when the 30-year-old, seven-year veteran claimed his goal at the plate in the 2012 season was to try to walk more. Floyd was appalled. "You're going to make me smack you," the one-time Montreal Expos' draft pick told the Nats' big middle of the order bat, "You're going to make me come through-- I'm gonna see you tonight and I'm going to smack you for that comment right there. I'm gonna knock you out." Morse went on to explain that what he really meant was that he simply wanted to improve his plate discipline and had probably used the wrong words with Floyd suggesting he simply say he wanted to be "more selective."

Unfortunately for Morse, he suffered a lat injury this Spring that has kept the 1B/OF out of the lineup thus far this season. Morse has played three games with the Nats' High-A affiliate this week and he told reporters last night in a post game interview that he felt he was ready whenever the Nationals made the decision to bring him back. According to Morse's friend, Cliff Floyd, through MLB Network Radio's Twitter account (@MLBNetworkRadio) the Nats' outfielder will be in right field when/if the Nationals play the Atlanta Braves tonight in the first game of a six-game homestand in Nationals Park:

' Is Cliff Floyd a credible source? Is MLB Network Radio to be believed? We should find out within the next hour when reporters meet with Nats' manager Davey Johnson before tonight's game with the Braves... Is Michael Morse finally coming back to the majors? Last night Morse ended his post game interview by excitedly saying his own Opening Days was coming soon...According to reports from Nats Park tonight, if they play, today is Morse's Opening Day. He's in right field and playing right tonight. MLB.com's official Twitter. just made it, uh, official:
