Wire Taps: Washington Nationals Weekend In Review: Gio Gonzalez In WBC; Ross Detwiler In Viera, Florida

One day until pitchers and catchers report for the Washington Nationals, but already one pitcher is being given the star treatment. Soon-to-turn-27-year-old lefty Ross Detwiler, who ended his 2012 campaign with the start of his career in Game 4 of the NLDS, is in Viera, Florida early according to the Nationals' official Twitter (@Nationals), which sent out the following Tweet on Sunday to remind fans in the nation's capital that pitchers and catchers report on Tuesday as the Nats officially begin their defense of the NL East crown:

' "Nobody puts Baby in a corner! Detwiler in the bullpen! - Johnny

Another Nats' lefty, Gio Gonzalez, made big news this weekend when it was announced that he had accepted an invitation to pitch for Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. It was welcome baseball-related news about the Nationals' 21-game winner, whose name surfaced in the Miami New Times' report on a Coral Gables, Florida-based anti-aging clinic that reportedly/allegedly provided PEDs to a number of professional athletes. Gonzalez has, of course, denied taking any PEDs and denied any connection to the clinic or its chief Anthony Bosch, whose notebooks tied Gonzalez to the clinic. Gonzalez's father has admitted to working with Mr. Bosch in an attempt to lose weight., but has denied his son had anything to do with the clinic. The last two New York Times' articles on the developing story, however, have focused on Mr. Bosch, with former acquaintances and business partners wondering if he had all this in him...

Spring Training Previews, Biogenesis updates, WBC news, it's all in there. LINKS and LOTS of them, starting... RIGHT NOW!!:
